On behalf of Scotiabank and The Greater Sudbury Learning Clinic, I would like to thank you for considering a sponsorship in one of most effective and positive marketing strategies available to businesses, professional practitioners and public-sector organizations that have goods and/or services to offer students, parents and teachers of the Greater Sudbury Area.

GOALS OF THE PROGRAM

To provide incentives for young people to become more active in the community by:
  • Providing funding to cover the costs of supplies and expenses for selected projects and activities involving young people in the Greater Sudbury Area;

  • Providing public recognition of the accomplishments and achievements of our local youth;

  • Generating more public awareness of the goods and service providers of the Greater Sudbury Area.

 HOW WE PLAN TO GENERATE AWARENESS OF THE GOODS AND/OR SERVICES OF OUR SPONSORS IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER:

WE WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH YOUR OWN ONLINE CORPORATE PROFILE

An Online Corporate Profile will be created for each of our sponsors consisting of:
  • An overview of your company or practice along with a brief history;

  • The profile will include a general description of the goods and services you provide, with a special focus on those goods and services that would be of particular interest to students, parents and/or teachers;

  • A special interview section will be created to explain the career prospects of your business/profession and we will include information and advice from you for students who are thinking about pursuing a career in your field;

  • The profile will include several photos showing your facility, your goods and services and your staff;

  • Links will be provided to your existing web site and emails;

  • All contact information such as phone, fax, address, hours of operation, etc. will be included;

  • A link to your corporate profile will be provided from the Home Page of the Young Community Builders Web Site;

  • SAMPLE: For a sample profile, visit the FANTASTIC FLOORS CORPORATE PROFILE
WE WILL PROMOTE SPECIAL DISCOUNTS AND INCENTIVES YOU WISH TO MAKE AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS, PARENTS AND TEACHERS

A special section has been created on this web site where we will be listing special discounts and incentives that are being offered by our sponsors for students, parents and teachers.
  • You can specify to which target group your discount applies;

  • You can change your discount whenever you wish;

  • You can establish your rules and/or guidelines such as a person having to show a student card, a report card; a College of Teachers Card, etc.;

  • The main goal here is to allow you an opportunity to show students,  teachers and their parents and grandparents that you appreciate their support and that you would like to reward them for this support;

WE WILL HELP YOU INCREASE YOUR PROFILE IN AREA SCHOOLS

We will be making regular and continuous contact with elementary and secondary schools throughout the region all year long as we promote the Young Community Builders Program and gather information about the activities involving young people. While we are doing this we will take every opportunity to increase the profile our sponsors within these schools as follows:
  • If you would like to get involved in the sponsorship of certain school activities during the year, we can extend the offer on your behalf when we come upon opportunities;

  • If you have goods and services that fall under the category of "school supplies" we will make sure that school administrators are aware of your products and try to make arrangements for you to increase your share of this market;

  • If you have promotional pamphlets and/or brochures, we will distribute these for you during our visits to the schools. Some of the items may be included in the newsletters as inserts, while others may simply be left in the staff rooms;
  • We will be providing the Student Councils with special incentives and prizes, including cash sponsorship donations so that they can achieve their goals in the area of school spirit development and community involvement;

  • We will consider other ideas for promotion that you may have.
WEEKLY RADIO SHOW
You will be invited to appear once every month or two on The Learning Clinic Education Forum, a weekly radio show that airs every Monday night from 6 to 8 p.m.on CKLU 96.7 FM. The show is hosted by Robert Kirwan. You will be interviewed to provide insight to our young listeners who may be interested in pursuing a career in your particular field. This will raise your profile further among students, parents and teachers.

WE ALREADY HAVE AN EFFECTIVE STRATEGIC PLAN IN PLACE TO PROMOTE THE PROGRAM

In addition to everything listed above, we have developed an effective strategic plan that includes several other methods which will be designed to give maximum public exposure and awareness to the Young Community Builders Program, including:
  • An article will be done for every project that is undertaken through the program. These articles will not only be posted on the Young Community Builders web site, they will be sent as press releases/announcements to the local media. It is expected that many of the projects will be published in one or more of the newspapers and on television, thus giving increased publicity for the program throughout the City of Greater Sudbury.

  • The Vision Paper: An article on education appears every week in The Vision Paper. This community paper is mailed to all households and businesses in Valley East every week. It is estimated that people of Valley East have direct or indirect contact with over 50% of the entire population of the City of Greater Sudbury through family, recreation and/or work. The Young Community Builders Program and web site will be promoted regularly in this column;

  • Valley East Today Community Web Site and Weekly Online News Magazine: This is published every week and is emailed to over 2800 addresses throughout the region;

  • The Greater Sudbury Learning Clinic will promote the Young Community Builders Program as a way of motivating and inspiring students;
  • The Learning Clinic Education Forum weekly radio program will be promoting The Learning Clinic network and will feature special interviews with students who have been profiled as part of the Young Community Builders program.

  • We will take advantage of other opportunities that come up to promote the Young Community Builders Program
