Valleyview Community Church Once Again Brings Out The Free Gift Wrapping For Local Shoppers
Lou Dotto, to the left in the foreground, spent a busy few days at the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre wrapping holiday gifts for local shoppers. This was about the fifth year that the Valleyview Community Church has organized this free service for local residents. It is much appreciated by the busy, last-minute shopper. The gift wrapping is free, but many people donated an item of food for the needy to say thank you for the service.
Here, Lou is shown with his wife Bernadette during a quiet moment.
Karen Stenbraaten, on the left, and Kimberly Irving were also two of the volunteers from the Church who took part in the gift wrapping activity.

Free Christmas Wrapping By Valleyview Community Church Much Appreciated By Customers At The Mall

Lou Dotto, and his wife, Bernadette, are shown in the photo at the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre wrapping gifts for shoppers. This was the 4th year that the Valleyview Community Church sponsored the free wrapping session. The material is provided by the members of the church. Cash donations were not accepted for this service. Instead, if anyone wanted to donate food for the needy, then the volunteers would take that and make sure it was delivered to the food banks. Hundreds of appreciative shoppers took advantage of this wonderful act of kindness and generosity on the part of the Valleyview Community Church.

Valleyview Gospel Singers Sing Up A Storm At The Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre

Bob Bolduc, above, wasn't sure how the public would react to being entertained by gospel music while they were doing their Saturday afternoon shopping, but within a few minutes all his concerns disappeared.

Once the colourful singers hit the stage at Centre Court, the crowds kept on coming.

Most people walking by stopped to listen to a song or two, and some even sat down and sang along for a while.

The Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre is inviting groups and organizations to use Saturday afternoons to put on demonstrations of their special skills and talents. On the first Saturday of every month, Roger Chevrier spends a couple of hours playing classical guitar. It is hoped that the Valleyview Gospel Singers may also become regulars at the mall.
