VALLEY RESIDENTS INVITED TO COMMUNITY SAFETY FORUM AT CITIZEN SERVICE CENTRE / PUBLIC LIBRARY IN HANMER

Ward 3 Councillors Ron Dupuis and Louise Portelance invite residents of Valley East to a Community Safety Forum on Tuesday, March 4th, 2003. The forum will take place from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Citizen Service Centre / Public Library, 4100 Elmview Drive, in Hanmer. This is part of a series of Community Safety Forums being hosted by the Greater Sudbury Police Service along with Ward Councillors.

"Citizens will have an opportunity to meet Ian Davidson, our new Chief of Police," said Councillor Ron Dupuis who encourages everyone to attend. "Senior officers will also be on hand to provide information and answer any questions citizens may have."

"The Greater Sudbury Police Service is committed to providing quality policing in partnership with our community and the Community Safety Forums offer an excellent opportunity for citizens to bring forward their concerns," said Councillor Louise Portelance. "In some areas of the city, the forums have evolved into police advisory panels because citizens identified the need."

"We will present some changes in our service delivery as a police organization and listen to local citizens talk about issues that are important to them," said Chief Davidson. "This forum will give us an opportunity to dialogue with the people we serve to ensure we respond to community needs. We will also let citizens know how they can access the variety of programs that we offer."
