Which Will Work
The Greater Sudbury Marketing Alliance is a
strategic marketing economic development initiative bringing together the
resources of private and public sector organizations which have:
expressed a desire to improve the image of the Greater Sudbury Area;
demonstrated a sincere commitment to improving the quality of life
of local residents;
shown a real concern about the future of the Greater Sudbury Area;
believe that the Greater Sudbury Area has tremendous potential;
a vested interest in stimulating economic growth in the Greater
Sudbury Area.
Many representatives of local businesses and
organizations, as well as most public sector leaders have expressed a
desire and commitment to take whatever steps are necessary to:
improve the image of the Greater Sudbury Area;
stop the out-migration of our young people;
generate economic development and expansion, and;
secure a brighter future for the people living in this region.
The strengths of the Greater Sudbury Area
have been identified as falling within the following broad categories:
Education
Real Estate & Development
Health
Retirement Living
Recreation & Leisure
Tourism
Retail
Mining & Mining Services
Manufacturing & Industrial Services
The goal of the Greater Sudbury Marketing
Alliance is to coordinate the individual efforts of existing groups and
organizations in creating an increased awareness, not only of the
strengths within each of the above areas, but also of the overall combined
strength of the Greater Sudbury Area.
The initial focus will be on the Southern and Northeastern Ontario
market and will then reach out globally.
The success of the Greater Sudbury Marketing Alliance will depend on
the financial support of the private and public sector businesses and
organizations in the Greater Sudbury Area. A strong local economy will
result in substantial benefits for the entire community and will ensure
that the GSA becomes one of Ontario’s major development centers by the
end of the decade.
