Early in September 2002, Kim
Lafreniere, CAT (C) - of the Active Therapy and
Rehabilitation Center shown on the left in the photo, and Nancy Rebellato, ND,
Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine at the Sudbury Naturopathic Center, decided to
form a new partnership called, HEALTH CHOICE SUDBURY.
The mission of HEALTH CHOICE SUDBURY is to create an awareness among people
of the tremendous number of health care alternatives which are available in this
community and to update residents on leading edge health care choices as new
treatments become available. Nancy and Kim feel that too much emphasis has been
placed on the negative issues with respect to the health sector of the Greater
Sudbury Area, when in fact, Sudburians have a wealth of options from which to
choose.
The first thing Nancy and Kim decided to do was organize a special seminar
entitles "Leading Edge Treatments For Muscle and Joint Pain" in order
to educate the public on the new treatments for muscle and joint pain which have
recently come to the City of Greater Sudbury.
The seminar was held on October 17, 2002, at the Caruso Club in Sudbury. Six
different presenters discussed their approach and demonstrated their techniques
for the treatment of muscle and joint pain. In addition to their presentations,
each also set up a display center where people attending the seminar could ask
questions of concern and receive educational literature.
