Chair of Organizing Committee of The NOHA SUMMIT - CHAPTER ONE Is Featured On Special Talk Radio Show After Very Successful Event
The Northern Ontario Hockey Association hosted a very important event in the City of Greater Sudbury on the weekend of August 5 to 7, 2011.

The NOHA Summit - Chapter One was held to identify and address key concerns facing the NOHA, as well as to look at opportunities to further enhance their programs in the North.

A total of 160 people from associations throughout the province and representatives from Hockey Canada attended the summit, which was deemed to be a huge success by all who experienced the conference.

Participants focused on three main areas during the summit:

  1. The future of the association with respect to the challenges and strategies used to grow and retain a sufficient volunteer base to maintain a healthy organization;

  2. The concerns with officiating, including how to improve the recruitment, training, development and retention of young officials.

  3. Long term player development along with coach certification and mentorship programs.

All of the presentations, video recordings of speeches and results of the group discussions will be made available on the NOHA web site http://www.noha-hockey.com/
