THE GREATER SUDBURY LEARNING CLINIC
EDUCATION & CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

THE LEARNING CLINIC EDUCATION CENTRE

The central core of the new initiatives is the Learning Clinic Education Centre. This is best described as a combination “virtual shopping centre” and “reference library”. It has been constructed to provide more awareness of education and career development resources that are available to students, parents, and educators of the Greater Sudbury Area.

It will contain relevant reference links to educational material as well as articles, editorials and commentaries that will inspire, motivate, and inform. The site will provide insight into major issues and trends that are influencing the field of education and career development today and in the future.

Most importantly, the Learning Clinic Education Centre will provide complete profiles of businesses, professionals, and institutions that provide goods and/or services which may be useful in helping students and parents achieve their education and career development goals. There will even be a special section where businesses and professionals will be listing goods and services that they are making available at special discounts to students, parents and educators.

THE LEARNING CLINIC EDUCATION FORUM

The Learning Clinic Education Forum will consist of video and audio pod casts as well as web site editorial references and links designed to help students, educators, parents and grandparents achieve their education, training and career development goals. This information will be accessed in a number of ways, including but not limited to the following:

  1. Live talk radio shows interviews with special guests on CKLU 96.7 FM from Laurentian University;

  2. Corporate profiles, editorials, articles and other information contained on the web site;

  3. Online seminars which will be available in video and audio form on www.thelearningclinic.ca

He started hosting the show in January 2008. The show is called THE LEARNING CLINIC "An Education Forum For Students, Teachers, Parents & Grandparents". Guests from the community are invited to be interviewed on the show in "round-table or panel discussion" format that is designed to provide insight into their particular industry or sector and to offer advice and recommendations with respect to relevant career opportunities.

Each individual guest will be on-air for approximately 40 to 50 minutes. The show will be taped and available for future listening on-demand from www.thelearningclinic.ca A list of guests who have appeared in the past is available by going to the following link CLICK HERE

The radio show is not only available over the air waves, it is also streamed live over the internet so that it can be picked up by anyone in the world who has internet access.

Robert Kirwan has extended an open invitation to anyone in the community who has something to share about his/her industry, career or public service to be his guest on the show. He intends to have up to three different guests each week in order to provide listeners with a broad spectrum of topics and information. The archive section of the web site will also be accessed from the www.learningcliniceducationcentre.ca and will serve as a resource for anyone interested in education and career development.

OUR GOAL IS TO INCREASE AWARENESS AMONG STUDENTS, PARENTS & GRANDPARENTS

Our main objective is to use the Learning Clinic Education Forum and the Learning Clinic Education Centre to help reduce some of the stress being felt by students and their parents by giving them a better understanding of some of the issues, trends and challenges that are being faced in the areas of education, training and career development. The more parents understand what is happening in education and career development today the better equipped they will be to help their children make important choices that will affect their entire future. It has been said that “you are always only one choice away from changing your life”. We want to help students and parents make a choice that will result in positive change that will help them achieve success in a career that is best suited to their talents and passion.

The program being instituted by The Learning Clinic allows students, teachers, parents and grandparents to have access to valuable and useful information that is provided by experts from the community. It is our belief that communication is the key in order for people of all ages and all walks of life to have the opportunity to achieve their education and career development goals.

SPONSORSHIP PACKAGES ARE NOW AVAILABLE

We are absolutely convinced that the best way we can help students, parents, grandparents, guardians and educators is to help them become more aware of the businesses, professionals and institutions that provide goods and services which may in some way help them achieve their education and career development goals.

We have now begun the process of assembling as much information as possible about the goods and services that are available to students, parents and educators which will help them achieve their education, training and career development goals. Our mission is to help you make parents more aware of how your particular goods and/or services might be of use to them in helping their children experience success in their education and in their career development. We have developed a plan of action that will not only enable you to increase general awareness of your goods and/or services, but will also enhance your position in the community as an expert in your field.

CUSTOMIZED SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMS

Each Customized Sponsorship Program will include the following common elements:

  1. We will meet with you to gather photos and information so that we can develop an in-depth magazine-style profile of your business, professional practice or institution. This will consist of up to ten (10) pages of full colour photos plus text and will be published in a special section of the Learning Clinic Education Centre web site. It will be designed to provide students, parents, grandparents and educators with a comprehensive overview of your operation as well as links to any other web site you may already have established.
  2. All sponsors will be encouraged to promote specific discounts and incentives to students, parents and educators upon presentation of their student card or their professional association membership card. This will be done in a special section of the Learning Clinic Education Centre and will be widely promoted. We want people to know that our sponsors are willing to help them out with special discounts to save money for other purchases. Your goods and/or services will be displayed at the beginning of your corporate profile. Each week you will be able to add another product or service so that by the end of the year you should have a complete catalogue of goods and/or services on your section for all to see.
  3. There will be numerous places on the Learning Clinic Education Centre as well as in several other web sites that we publish which will be directing and linking people to your profile.
  4. If you decide to be a guest on The Learning Clinic Education Forum radio show on CKLU 96.7 FM, we will include a brief summary of the program in a special section of the web site. We will also include the audio tape of the show on the site so that people can listen to the show at a later date.
  5. If you decide to present a live seminar during one of our Parent Forums that may be conducted at area secondary schools, we will allow you to submit a written chapter for our online electronic book.

Virtual Seminar Enhancement:

  1. All sponsors will have the opportunity to enhance their program with a "virtual seminar" that will be produced at their place of business and posted on www.learningcliniceducationcentre.ca

  2. Depending on the nature of your business, your seminar will be designed to be of interest to one or all of our target markets, namely students, educators, parents and grandparents.

  3. We will help you in the production and filming of your seminar so that it is educational and informative, making sure that it showcases the relevant goods and/or services that you have to offer.

  4. Your video seminar will be approximately 40 to 50 minutes in length.

  5. If appropriate, we will film the seminar so that it is able to be used in a "workshop" forum in a classroom as an audio-visual aid for teachers.

  6. Your video seminar will be posted on a special section of the web site that will contain all other virtual seminars, giving the impression that you and the others are all part of a "virtual conference" on education and career development. This will give the illusion that a visitor to the page has the option of dropping in to listen to all of the seminars that interest him at a time that is convenient.

  7. As well as the video link, a person will also be able to access the audio feed in case the person simply wishes to listen to the presentation while doing other activities.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. The fee for your sponsorship program will be determined by the level of customization required to meet your needs and will also be determined by the nature of your "virtual seminar enhancement" if you choose to utilize this option..

  2.  All packages are for a full 12 month period from the date the corporate profile is posted on the web site.

  3. The annual fee will be paid monthly in advance with the first payment being required at the time the agreement is signed. This initial deposit will cover the period for the month immediately following the month in which the agreement is signed and subsequent payments will be due on the first day of each of the following months.

  4. It is understood that the advertising/sponsorship fee is for the promotional considerations contained on the Learning Clinic Education Centre and/or The Greater Sudbury Learning Clinic web sites only. The Learning Clinic Education Forum and The Learning Clinic Radio Show are both public services that are being provided free of charge to the students, parents and educators of the community.
